Direct from Honolulu, Hawaii, Kumu Lua Ramsay Taum will share the background, principles and application of the combat system of his warrior ancestors: LUA – The Way of the Hawaiian Warrior. Kumu Lua Ramsay is the Po’o (head instructor) and most senior member of the Kaihewalu ‘Ohana Lua system in Hawaii. With nearly fifty years of experience and training in numerous martial systems, Kumu Ramsay is a recognized cultural practitioner, lecturer, instructor and trainer. He is also the Lua stunt technical advisor for the CBS hit show Hawaii Five-0.

LUA is more than a combat system. Once thought lost to antiquity, the secretive Hawaiian martial art of Lua involves much more than just combative skills but is a practice that stimulates new ways of thinking, new ways of being, and new ways to “be present” in times of uncertainty. Come and meet Kumu Lua Ramsay as he discusses and demonstrates the principles, concepts and application of this unique cultural battle system.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
18 years or older for those participating. Spectators can be 18 and under.

Do I have to have prior experience?
Pre-requisite: Advanced Belts Only; Law Enforcement (1+ years) Welcome.
All martial arts styles and systems are welcome.

What do I wear?
Wear comfortable workout clothes, pants, shorts, t-shirt. (No tank tops or spaghetti straps)
